**Position Information**:
North Sydney Public School has an enrolment of 737 students. 52% of students are from a language background other than English and we value the diversity and cultural richness that our student population brings. As a PBL school, our values of Care, Respect and Ownership are embedded in programs, practices and relationships. We place emphasis on outstanding teaching and learning programs, supported by quality professional learning. Curriculum differentiation and meeting the needs of all students are key focus areas. Additionally, we recently completed a major build that combines new and flexible learning spaces with traditional learning environments further enhancing our educational offerings.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary, can effectively balance the dual roles of an exemplary teacher and the complex responsibilities of an Assistant Principal.

A flexible and collaborative leader who inspires, builds capacity and supports early career and experienced teachers to effectively implement curriculum and current pedagogy.

Demonstrated ability to identify areas of need within the school and drive change with a focus on continuous improvement of student outcomes.

A visible and dynamic leader with experience implementing and evaluating initiatives that support the school's strategic directions.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- 4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
