Epworth at Home Hospital in The Home Coordinator
2 days ago
This new Coordinator role is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Epworth at Home service. The focus of this full-time position is the patient journey into the Hospital in the Home and Chemotherapy in the Home areas of Epworth at Home. This position will provide clinical and professional leadership across the Epworth at Home team, and broader Epworth services, whilst collaborating with key stakeholders to develop strong relationships. This role also encompasses the revenue component of HITH and CITH, with a strong knowledge of Health Funds required.
Our Hospital in the Home and Chemotherapy in the Home services sit within the newly formed Epworth at Home service. Epworth Hospital in the Home was the first private sector HITH unit to be established in Australia, and has been in operation since 2000. Currently the unit treats over 700 acute patient admissions and over 7500 bed days each year, with a planned expansion in progress. The future of acute healthcare will involve the delivery of more technical hospital level interventions at home, for conditions that would otherwise require traditional hospital interventions and care.
Epworth sets a standard of excellence in this renowned service, treating patients from all over Melbourne. These treatments include intravenous antimicrobial therapy, TPN, chemotherapy, diuretic, blood and blood products, complex post-surgical wound management, among other treatments including the management of Covid. It is an inpatient service and provides comprehensive care to its patients during HITH admission. Patients are referred from hospital wards, Emergency Department, Residential Aged Care and the community.
Epworth’s Hospital in the Home offers services for the Richmond, Eastern and Freemasons campuses of Epworth Healthcare, as well as offering services to privately insured patients of other hospitals in Melbourne.
All services are provided in house, covering all hours, by its close knit team of experienced medical and nursing staff, along with access to Epworth hospital based pharmacy, radiology, and pathology.
