About the Position
As a Vocational Education (VE) Teacher in Plumbing, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of your students by delivering engaging course material, assessing their progress, and supervising their development within the School. Your participation in ongoing reviews of course content, innovative teaching methods (including online formats), and effective student assessment techniques will elevate the educational experience.
You will connect and collaborate with external organizations, industry groups, and RMIT teaching and administrative staff, fostering a rich learning environment. Your commitment to relevant activities will ensure that your vocational competence not only meets but exceeds the educational standards you are entrusted to deliver and assess.
- To be successful in this position, you’ll have:_- Effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments. This includes effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods.- Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment.- Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.- Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.- Capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions.- Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.- Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies
Mandatory Qualifications:
- A qualification in the TAE 40122 (TAE40116) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its equivalent; or higher-level qualification in adult education- Diploma of Plumbing
