**THE COLLEGE**

**THE POSITION**

The College is seeking an experienced **Teacher Aide** to work in our **Learning Enhancement Team.** This position involves the direct support of students in **Years 7-12,** Monday to Friday, 6.42 hours a day. This is a fixed-term, part-time position for the 2025 school year, commencing on 17 January 2025.

All staff are appointed by the CEO & Executive Principal of MBC and MBBC and they are responsible to him for the over-all performance of their duties. The CEO & Executive Principal delegates his authority to senior staff members for the effective management of the College. This role will report directly to the Head of Learning Enhancement.

All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of this Uniting Church day school for boys from P-12.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- The Teacher Aide will _be required to:_
- Work as part of a team to provide quality educational service and care for verified and NCCD students
- Assist teachers with the management of students and enhancement of student learning
- Supervise and assist Secondary students who have a reduced load and attend study periods
- Supervise assessments and exams for students
- Provide individual in-class and small group support
- Support students with modified programmes
- Maintain daily note taking and administrative duties
- Attend timetabled Playground Duties
- Support and encourage students to develop independence
- Attend weekly Learning Enhancement meetings

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
- Certificate III in Education Support
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a Secondary Teacher Aide or Tutor
- Experience working with students in a Secondary school setting
- Experience supporting students in Years 11 and 12 English, Maths and Science classes

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
- Hold a current Blue card
- First Aid Certificate is desirable

**CONDITIONS AND SALARY**
- Hours of Duty: Monday - Friday, 6.42 hours a day.
- Term time + 1 week
- The position is classified as a School Officer Level 3, with a starting rate of $31.93 per hour. The salary will be determined based in experience in accordance with the Moreton Bay Boys’ College Enterprise Agreement.
