About the opportunity
Jetstar is currently recruiting a Heavy Maintenance Coordinator based at our Tullamarine location in Melbourne. We're always looking for proactive professionals to help our business work smarter and more efficiently. You will be encouraged to think innovatively whilst developing and maintaining best practice.
This position will be situated within the Jetstar Maintenance Operations & Inventory Team where you will be responsible for the planning, purchasing and co-ordination of consumable, expendable, repairable and rotable aircraft spares required for all external heavy maintenance events.
Reporting to the Purchasing, Inventory and Repairs Manager, responsibilities for this role will include:
- Ability to interpret preload Heavy Maintenance requirements as defined by Planning.
- Effectively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve planning conflicts or delays that may arise.
- Develop a database to manage all heavy maintenance materials & logistics activities prior to aircraft entering hangar.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability for planned maintenance.
- Monitor hard time report and work with planning to coordinate removal of components from aircraft in accordance with spares availability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing regular updates to all stakeholders.
- Provide inventory forecasts to MRO’s for parts supplied via contract.
- Purchase expendable & consumable inventory in accordance with heavy maintenance demand.
- Provide interface between Logistics and Purchasing, Inventory & Repairs departments for expendable material rejections, quarantine store activity and receipt discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure suitable availability of required parts to support current and future heavy maintenance requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills & experience:
- Experience in purchasing and component control
- Experience in inventory management / optimisation within a Supply Chain environment
- Component control experience with the ability to develop an understanding of aircraft industry component control or purchasing
- Ability to think laterally and develop effective solutions
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and targets
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to effectively liaise with all levels of management, staff and suppliers
- Demonstrated analytical skills, logical and methodical approach to work.
- Strong customer focus, highly motivated and committed to continuous improvement.
- Computer literacy in MS Office, Outlook and Excel
