The First Peoples - State Relations Group is seeking talented and passionate individuals committed to progressing the Victorian Government's nation leading work with First Peoples.
This is a unique opportunity to work in new and innovative ways that recognise First Peoples as the self-determining drivers of Aboriginal affairs in Victoria. This role will contribute to the ground-breaking work of the Group in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights.
As an Investigator, you will undertake regulatory investigations and conduct compliance and enforcement action under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006. This includes compiling prosecution briefs of evidence and preparing reports.
Investigators also contribute to the training for Authorised Officers and Aboriginal Heritage Officers, and the ongoing development of internal policies and procedures.
About you
- experience in conducting investigations in a compliance, regulatory or law enforcement environment
- strong critical analysis and report writing skills, with a high degree of attention to detail
- strong verbal, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Some travel across Victoria is necessary to undertake this role. A current drivers licence is required.
