Due to the ongoing success of our digital advisory team, we are seeking a GIS Analyst to be a part of our growing service offering. You will be involved in large infrastructure projects in a role that will be challenging and varied whilst offering fantastic opportunities for career development.
Mott MacDonald’s Advisory team successfully integrates our experience across Infrastructure Advisory, Economics, Project Management, Environment and Sustainability, Professional Training and Leadership Development, Asset Management, and Digital Consulting to provide advice that covers the entire infrastructure lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide geospatial services to Mott Macdonald's Queensland Advisory business supporting water, transport, energy, digital, sustainability and infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with local and regional GIS team members in ongoing development and implementation of standards for day-to-day GIS processes and data management.
- Cross promote geospatial services to other parts of the business in a consistent manner.
- Assist team members in geospatial data analysis and mapping for web and static reports.
- Develop and implement spatial solutions to improve decision making, promote innovation and reduce duplication.
- Check and process incoming data according to Mott MacDonald's quality assurance procedures.
- Take part in geospatial data management presentations and training activities for internal users on geospatial data platforms.
- Help promote and enable the use of GIS across our Australian business unit.
- Learn and support Mott Macdonald's in-house geospatial products.
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams to provide integrated spatial solutions for CAD, BIM, Machine Learning and IoT.
- Work on client site for periods as required to support delivery of major projects.
- Grow and develop your geospatial skills through collaborative engagement with local, state and international GIS team members.
- About you:
- Experience working in multidisciplinary technical or business consulting environment
- Detailed ESRI product suite experience including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise / Online
- Other GIS software suite experience including QGIS or Global Mapper desirable
- Spatial data ETL (export, transform, load) with experience in FME desirable
- Experiencing in other WebGIS systems advantageous i.e. Geocortex, Mapbox, Carto, Cesium, GeoServer
- Understanding of Spatial databases, design, development, maintenance and administration experience
- Comprehensive understanding of cartographic and geodesign principles
- Experience using relational databases, e.g. SQL Server, MySQL and/or PostgreSQL advantageous
- Scripting and coding experience highly desirable i.e. Python, ArcGIS REST API, other
- Excellent organisational, time-management and communication skills
- Excellent communication and client facing skills as will be required to work on client site
- Interest/skills in digital engineering, BIM integration, DL/ML, gaming engines, extended reality (XR /AR/VR), IoT, PowerBI, Blockchain
