Job Description

About the Role:

MPK is seeking a Junior GIS Analyst to join our team based in our Brisbane Support Office. This role is responsible for assisting with the management, review, and delivery of GIS data used in major pipeline and energy projects. This includes reviewing Issued for Construction (IFC) data, compiling daily As-Built data collected by survey teams, and preparing outputs for internal stakeholders and external clients. The role provides technical GIS support to survey and engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery across project lifecycles. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Review IFC data provided by clients to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Review, validate, and compile daily As-Built data from surveyors, maintaining consistency with project schemas.
- Support the integration of survey data into geodatabases and project GIS systems.
- Prepare and deliver GIS datasets, maps, and reports for use by survey, engineering, and project management teams.
- Assist in maintaining spatial data integrity, version control, and metadata documentation.
- Perform data cleaning, quality assurance, and troubleshooting of GIS datasets.
- Assist with schema mapping and data migration between client, contractor, and internal systems.
- Provide basic cartographic outputs (maps, layouts, exports to CAD/KML) to support project reporting.
- Support automation and scripting tasks (ArcPy, ModelBuilder, or similar tools) under guidance.
- Ensure GIS deliverables meet client requirements and contractual obligations.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

The successful candidate will hold or be working towards a tertiary qualification in Geospatial Science, Surveying, Environmental Science or a related discipline. Professional experience in GIS or survey-related data management is desired.

Exceptional written and verbal communication is necessary, partnered with strong problem solving and analytical skills.

You must be able to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
