Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class 'ETCS' signalling system.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
About the Role
The Lead Geospatial Analyst is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the software, tools, geodatabases, and pipelines for the GIS model and 3D datasets for the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA).
Working as a key member of the Digital Delivery team this role utilises to cutting edge digital engineering technologies, providing a crucial role as we move towards the delivery phase of the project. This team has a specific focus on addressing project challenges using digital solutions with a focus on assurance, operational readiness, testing and commissioning, training and familiarisation, operations, and maintenance.
This opportunity is offered as a contract until November 2026.
**Key Responsibilities**:The responsibilities of this role are the following**:
- Producing geospatial outputs for our major programs of work and developer-led precinct projects.
- Review, and analysis of externally supplied geospatial data.
- Creation of 2D/3D GIS outputs.
- Support the creation and management of CRRDA's GIS strategy, datasets, and enterprise GIS infrastructure.
- Design and development of scripts and tools for monitoring and reporting on the GIS environment.
- Administration of the portal for ArcGIS (user management, permissions, publish map services etc.).
- Support the integration of BIM, CAD, GIS, and 3D visualisation models and datasets.
- Support the assurance of contractual deliverables as the project moves towards As-Constructed.
- Demonstrated experience using Python and FME highly desirable.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with other internal and external stakeholders to ensure GIS deliverables are achieved.
- Support other geospatial tasks as requested by the Manager, Digital Service.
**About You**:
- Prior experience with a geospatial technical delivery role (preferably within an infrastructure project).
- High level of skill in the use of geospatial systems, including but not limited to: software (e.g. ESRI), geodatabases, imagery.
- Experience in the collection, structure and analysis of GIS data, geodatabases, and datasets and GIS workflows.
- Understanding or demonstrated experience developing automations or tools to inform deeper analysis and report generation on structured data.
- Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in the use of EDMS (electronic data management system) or CDE (common data environment) systems such as ProjectWise desirable.
