Sharepoint Solution Designer

An experienced SharePoint designer/architect, working collaboratively in a project environment to produce integrated document management solutions.

Location: Brisbane Inner City Fringe

Contract: Hourly rate contract, initial contract for 11 months with one possible extension

**Job Summary**

Our client is a QLD Government agency. They are undertaking a Service Delivery Transformation Program to deliver people, process, and technology solutions for one of their important directorates. The ICT component is being delivered through a cloud-based solution on the Appian platform, with their implementation partner. An iterative agile approach is being used to design, build, test and deploy the solution components. They are currently in Deliver phase and are delivering 3 Projects to implement these people, process and technology solutions.

The SharePoint Designer leads the operational technical delivery of the product's integration to SharePoint Online and is responsible for the design and development activity through the program's Agile Way of Working with their partner and internal ICT Operations team.

**Main Requirements**
- You will be an experienced SharePoint designer or architect, used to working collaboratively in a project environment to produce integrated document management solutions.
- You will have hands-on experience in the SharePoint Online Object Model, SharePoint App model, RecordPoint, Records 365 or similar.

**Key responsibilities**
- The SharePoint Designer will be working through the full life cycle of:

- Document management site information architecture design, building, support & maintenance.
- Document migration to SharePoint Online from OneDrive, previous SharePoint versions, and network file systems.
- In collaboration with the project, design of new sections of an integrated organisation-wide portal SharePoint site.
- Testing and deployment.
- In consultation with the project team, recommend best practice solution features for the Program's document management capability which align with the organisation-wide design as it evolves
- Providing weekly status on the requirements to the stakeholders and seeking approval for any extensions in the timelines or additions in the requirements
- Effectively communicate complex concepts and information to senior management.

**Selections Criteria**
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the effective **design/architecture, implementation, management, and maintenance of high
- quality SharePoint Online document management solutions **in alignment with associated enterprise architecture, information management, data protection and security policies.
- Demonstrated experience with document migration including from OneDrive, previous SharePoint versions, and network file systems to a modern SharePoint Online experience.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in both oral and interpersonal communication skills with business clients, solution architects, business analysts, technical specialists, suppliers and other stakeholders.

**Main Requirements**
- Experience in defining, designing, and implementing Information Architecture in the modern (flat architecture) SharePoint Online experience including Site Hierarchy, Taxonomy (Structure), Security, and Navigation & Search.
- Previous experience designing eDRMS functionality using SharePoint Online and integrating with external Systems/Platforms.
- Experience with migrating documents into SharePoint Online from OneDrive, previous SharePoint versions, and network file systems.

**Desirable skills and knowledge**
- Demonstrated experience with Records 365 would be highly desirable.
- An understanding of event receivers, features, timer jobs and managed metadata services.
- Experience with SharePoint DevOps.
- SharePoint certification is preferable.
- Hands-on experience in the SharePoint Online Object Model, SharePoint App model and WebParts.
