We are currently working in partnership with a State Government department. They are looking to recruit an experienced AO7 Policy & Procedure Officer on a 3-month contract with the opportunity to extend.

**About the role**:
The Regulatory Policy Officer will be responsible for overseeing the insurance framework and contributing to the establishment of a lessons-learned culture within the organization. This role involves creating mechanisms for feedback loops, aiding decision-making processes, and ensuring continuous improvement. The officer will also play a pivotal role in handling delegations and decision-making processes, particularly in escalated situations, ensuring the right people have visibility

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Demonstrate excellent written communication skills and experience in writing briefs and reports and correspondence for internal and external audiences, consistently presenting advice in a clear, concise, and articulate manner.
- Establish a robust lessons-learned culture and mechanisms for feedback loops.
- Research, develop and write new policy that will become the procedure to Aid in decision-making processes and ensure effective communication with training teams, audit teams, and managers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
- Develop and implement a delegation’s manual, identifying individuals with specific delegations.
- Translate operational policies and procedures into practice and run workshops for engagement across the business.
- Create procedures for assessing different types of licenses.
- Conduct internal policy work, leveraging knowledge of regulatory practices.
- Undertake research and collate detailed information on a range of topics.
- Support the coordination and development of a range of key deliverables for the department, including planning, reporting and corporate documents.
- Exercise judgment to effectively manage competing priorities while working collaboratively with colleagues, or individually, to deliver products on time and to the expectations of clients.
- Achieve a strong client service focus by establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and networks with team members.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as directed.

**About you**:

- Worked with a government organsieation in a similar role
- Government regulator experience.
- Operational policy and procedure work experience.
- Ability to translate policy into practical procedures.
- Experience in running workshops and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and internal workings of a regulator.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
- Excellent Policy writing skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
