**About Us**

The Avenues Group of centres is a family owned and operated company with 16 centres across Brisbane. We have been providing quality care and education since 2003. Each centre in the group has its own unique character and offers services that reflect the local communities in which they are located.

**The Role**

We are seeking an experienced **Maintenance Officer** to conduct maintenance as well as administrative and clerical duties for our Early Learning centres throughout Brisbane.

The position we are offering is on a _**full-time basis**_. Your role will mainly be to liase with tradespeople on specialised tasks as well as perform general preventative and corrective maintenance activities. In addition to the scheduled services, there will be call-outs and non-scheduled activities. All activities are required to be completed in a professional manner.

You will be required to work 5 days per week - a total of 38 hours per week.

This may include regular weekend work.

**Duties**
- Liaising with contractors
- Building maintenance/assessment
- General handywork, including fixing and maintaining furniture and resources
- Administrative/Clerical tasks
- End to end task management
- Assessing emergency issues and carrying out emergency repairs or liaising with relevant trades when required

**You will need**
- Experience in a general maintenance role
- Handyman experience (this includes knowledge of building, plumbing, electrical and general repairs but doesn’t require to be trade qualified)
- Facilities management experience - This includes workflow management and communications
- Previous experience in clerical or administrative role highly regarded
- Essential knowledge and experience in computer operation & MS Office (includes Word, Excel & Outlook)
- Current 'Working with Children' Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
- Own vehicle
- Driver’s licence
- Great personal presentation
- A positive "can do" attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to work on a tight schedule
- Ability to work alone
- Good problem solving skills
- Experience in working with Health and Safety Policies & Procedures

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
