Key Responsibilities:

- Install, upgrade, and patch DB2 databases, ensuring optimal performance and data availability.
- Develop and implement database backup and recovery plans, adhering to best practices.
- Perform database migration and housekeeping tasks within the corporate data model.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review project requests and ensure database services align with business objectives.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, proactively addressing any concerns.
- Maintain database security policies and procedures, implementing necessary measures to safeguard data.
- Contribute to the development and practice of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Act as part of an out-of-hours support team, providing expert assistance when required.

**Key Skills**:

- Extensive experience in DB2 production database administration, supporting large environments.
- Expert-level knowledge in DB2 installation, upgrade, patching, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in database backup and recovery using TSM technologies.
- Solid understanding of AIX administration and experience in upgrading the OS.
- Strong knowledge of database security, encryption, high-availability, disaster recovery, and replication.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and systematic problem analysis abilities.
- Understanding of SAN/NAS storage architecture.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Tertiary qualifications in a computing discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, showcasing expertise in DB2 Database Administration.
- Expert knowledge of AIX Operating System and IBM WebSphere Administration.

**Special Circumstances**:

- Eligibility to legally work in Australia is a must.
- Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance and willing to undertake a Police Check
- Willingness to work reasonable additional hours and be on-call as necessary.
- Flexibility for occasional travel to various sites, interstate, or overseas.
