**Health Information Clerk**
- Part time 28hrs (4 days) a week, fixed term contract for 2 years
- All sites
- $29.57 base + salary packaging + super (pro-rata for part time)

**Role**

In this role, you will be involved in, but not restricted to:

- Preparation and scanning of patient information and coordination with other Health Information Clerks to make information available for patient care
- Release of patient information in accordance with our privacy procedures to support patient care external to Austin Health
- Quality checking of scanned/uploaded information to ensure the high quality of our scanned medical record (SMR)
- Merging of patient records when duplicate Unit Record Numbers occur
- Updating information (patient and record) on various information systems
- Greeting callers and other customers as part of the reception function
- Medical record filing and retrieval
- Sorting of internal mail

Essential Qualities:

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Well organised, able to prioritise, plan ahead and work under pressure
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) & Patient Administration systems
- Previous front line customer service experience
- Experience with medical terminology would be advantageous
