As Marketing and Communications Officer within the Events and Engagement team, you will use your excellent creative and project management skills to develop and deliver engaging content that builds awareness and pride for awards, events and projects.
The Events and Engagement team coordinates events that facilitate community engagement and promote Queensland Government priorities and key initiatives. The team also provides leadership and strategic advice on whole of government sponsorship strategy to drive economic and community benefits.
You will play a key role in activities including Australia Day, Queensland Australian of the Year Awards, Queensland Day, Queensland Greats Awards, Queensland Reconciliation Awards, Premier's Awards for Excellence, White Ribbon Day event, Queensland Government display at the Ekka and a range of ad-hoc programs.
You will be an expert communicator, organised, adaptable to changing timeframes and able to create content that engages target audiences.
**Responsibilities**
- **Coordinate** and support the delivery and implementation of a broad range of innovative communication and marketing campaigns and strategies which promote awards, events and projects.
- **Provide** support for the team in writing, producing and proofing content for digital and print media including web and intranet pages, video, social media, content plans, blogs and newsletters, broader marketing campaigns in addition to supplier briefs, general correspondence, and briefing notes.
- **Contribute** to measurement and analysis of communication outcomes; including monitoring, reviewing and analysing data against objectives.
- **Creatively** review the delivery, promotion and marketing of event programs and projects to maximise the effectiveness of the events, awards or projects.
- **Apply** evolving knowledge of contemporary traditional, digital and social media communication practices and contribute ideas and solutions to the communication needs of awards, events and projects.
- **Build**, manage and maintain relationships by developing proposals and presentations, agreements, reports and correspondence to facilitate the acquisition and successful delivery of sponsorship and media partners.
**Key qualities, experience and qualifications**

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, journalism, communications or a related discipline is desirable.
