My Gateway is seeking an experienced **Payroll Officer** to join our supportive and collaborative team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a well-established, not-for-profit organisation that helps young people kickstart their careers.

At **My Gateway**, we have been supporting careers for over **40 years** as a **not-for-profit** Group Training Organisation. We employ and mentor over **200 apprentices and trainees** across various industries, helping businesses find, train, and employ the right talent while ensuring compliance and efficiency in workforce management.

**Your Role**

As a Payroll Officer, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function and play a key role in delivering a seamless employee and client experience.

Responsibilities include:

- Processing payroll for 200+ employees weekly
- Processing payroll for 20+ employees fortnightly for office staff
- Onboarding, progression & offboarding employees
- Maintaining and updating payroll related records
- Ensuring compliance with tax, PAYG, and audit standards
- Communicating with employees and other stakeholders
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in payroll and invoicing processes

**What You Bring**
- 3+ years’ experience in payroll _(desirable but not essential)_
- Strong understanding of Awards, EBAs, and payroll regulations
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with payroll software (WorkForce One a plus)
- Analytical mindset—problem-solving and leadership advisory experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Payroll
- Strong communication skills to liaise with host employers, apprentices, and trainees
- Team player with a positive approach
