About the role
As a Sourcing Manager, you will be key to the delivery of our Exclusive Wine Brand strategy & financial targets. This role is a great opportunity to be a key driver behind our continued overarching Exclusive Liquor Brand expansion and ambition.
You will lead wine sourcing across the global bulk portfolio to drive the performance through profitability, growth, and return; in line with the Coles Liquor vision to be a simpler, more relevant, and competitive, local drinks specialist
You’ll also:
- Plan, achieve and exceed the commercial budget of the bulk wine sourcing portfolio by ensuring delivery of the exclusive liquor portfolio through optimised sourcing & forecasting
- Execute short-medium-long term supply contracts across bulk wine portfolio
- Act as a wine technical specialist within the liquor team, responsible for quality evaluation, wine specifications & monitoring of quality control measures
- Source and develop new blends in line with the category/subcategory team requirements
- Work closely with the category and sourcing team to ensure end to end project management of all new product development from concept to execution
- Work collaboratively with packaging partners and internal stakeholders to identify new product opportunities or opportunities to improve efficiencies
- Liaise with packaging partners and supply chain teams to ensure optimum levels of stock, ensuring ongoing availability of product
Job Requirements
About you and your skills
You will use your commercial acumen along with technical wine knowledge to source products in line with our Wine Brand strategy and category team requirements.
You’ll also need:
- demonstrated winemaking, liquor buying or bulk liquor sourcing experience
- passion for the product (wine, beer, spirits or ready to drink), previous knowledge or experience within the Wine industry will be strongly considered
- experience and understanding of contractual terms, documents & agricultural agreements
- outstanding influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- sound knowledge of liquor end-to-end supply chain
- highly developed tasting skills preferred (wine only)
