Regulatory Specialist

In your new role as Regulatory Specialist you will have responsibility for ATCO Gas Divisions systems and procedures assuring regulatory compliance, adequacy of Safety Cases and safe operation of the gas distribution network.

**What you will contribute to**:
**Risk Management - Risk Assessment (Formal Safety Assessment)**:

- Conducts or coordinates the conducting of Formal Safety Assessments (FSAs) in accordance with AA- RSK-FWK-01 ATCO Australia POS Risk Management Framework, TCO GL0001 Technical Compliance Risk Management Guideline, TCO PL00005 Gas Distribution System Safety Case, TCO PL00006 Mandurah Gas Lateral Safety Case and relevant legislative requirements.
- Communicates, or coordinate the communication of FSA findings and Risk Management Action Plans (RMAPs) to relevant ATCO stakeholders.
- Monitor review dates and coordinate the review and revision of Safety Case FSAs in accordance with TCO GL0001 Technical Compliance Risk Management Guideline.
- Work with relevant ATCO - Gas Division Departments and teams to assure as required FSAs are conducted to support ATCOs CAPEX, OPEX, Business Development and Innovation works program.

**Monitoring, Audit and Review**:

- Coordinate and/or conducts Technical Compliance audits in accordance with TCO PR0005 Technical Compliance Audit, TCO PL00005 Gas Distribution System Safety Case, TCO PL00006 Mandurah Gas Lateral Safety Case and the INS PL00001 Inspection Policy Statement and Plan.
- Communicates, or coordinates the communication of Audit findings and Corrective Action and/or Improvement Recommendations (CARs & IRs) to relevant ATCO stakeholders.

**Safety Case and Safety Management System**:

- Provides support for the review and revision of the Gas Distribution System Safety Case (TCO PL00005) with the requirement to enable various fuels within the distributed network.
- Supports the review and revision of Safety Management System documentation for which Technical Compliance is responsible.
- Liaises as required with the Department of Mines, Industrial Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) - Dangerous Goods and Critical Risk, or Building and Energy Divisions to build on ATCOs sound working regulatory relations.

**What you will bring**:

- University degree qualification in Engineering or Science.
- Extensive process and/or dangerous goods safety knowledge and experience in:

- design, standards, and the relevant legislative regime.
- risk assessments, such as HAZOP Studies and various qualitative and semi-quantitative/ quantitative risk assessment techniques.
- safety and asset management systems.
- auditing and the development and implementation of audit plans.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with and influence regulatory authorities.
