The **Procurement Specialist **role presents an exciting opportunity to actively participate in the development and implementation of ATCO’s renewable energy projects, and the spectrum of procurement packages include land access, design and engineering, materials, specialist electrical equipment, construction, and more. **What you’ll do**:
Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services, you have a key role to utilise your unmatched commercial acumen driving cost-effective solutions and supplier excellence.
- Champion and manage procurement activities, including developing sourcing strategies, conducting tender processes, and negotiating and executing contracts.
- Develop market intelligence, staying updated on supply chain vulnerabilities, and building a preferred supplier network for current and future requirements.
- Optimise value, provide advice and guidance on sourcing-related issues, including contracting strategies, negotiation tactics, and supplier management.
- Build and cultivate relationships at all internal and external levels, encouraging effective communication, collaboration and showcasing skill in influencing and resolving disputes.
- Proactively engaging with suppliers to understand their capabilities, assess performance, and find opportunities for improvement.
- Lead contract management activities, including conducting review meetings, monitoring supplier performance, and managing spending effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
**Skills & Experience**
- A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field, is beneficial but not crucial.
- Proven experience and sound knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, best practices, and methodologies.
- Understanding the utilities or energy infrastructure industries is beneficial, including knowledge of supply chain dynamics, market trends, regulatory requirements, and awareness of potential risks and vulnerabilities in the supply chain.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading supplier relationships, including assessing supplier capabilities, conducting performance evaluations, and encouraging long-term partnerships.
- Proficiency in contract management practices, including reviewing contracts, monitoring compliance, and managing contract modifications.
- Knowledge of supplier qualification processes, supplier development strategies, and vendor management techniques is important.
- Comprehend legal and commercial terms and the ability to negotiate favourable terms and conditions is valuable.
