**Responsibilities**:

- Parliamentary: research and provide strategic advice on a range of parliamentary and portfolio issues; draft speeches, briefing papers and complex correspondence; policy development
- Media support: liaise with media, monitor and analyse key issues and emerging trends across a range of media platforms; provide research, media advice and releases
- Stakeholder engagement: develop effective relationships and consult with a wide range of stakeholders across government, private sector, and diverse community organisations across a range of portfolio matters
- Work collaboratively within an inclusive team environment to meet the strategic objectives of the parliamentary office.

**Highly regarded skills and experience**:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Journalistic, media and public relations experience
- Stakeholder engagement experience and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to handle multiple tasks, determine appropriate priorities and respond quickly and efficiently
- High level understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive documents
