**The Geelong Clinic**

**Program Coordinator - Inpatient Eating Disorder Program**

2 days per week

(Parental Leave 12 months position) Commencing February 2025

An exciting opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and experienced Psychologist/Social Worker/Occupational Therapist to join The Geelong Clinic as the Coordinator of the LEAP eating disorder inpatient program.

The Eating Disorder Program (EDP) at the Geelong Clinic one of the most highly respected programs of its kind in Australia, and consumers are waitlisted to participate.

Learning to Eat at Peace (LEAP) is a 40-day inpatient program that has been treating people with all types of eating disorders for more than 20 years. LEAP offers individualized evidence-based treatment that is adapted to the patients’ unique experience and eating disorder concerns.

Both group and individual therapy are offered to patients in LEAP. Weekly groups range in content and approach, including psychology based groups, nutrition, art therapy, yoga and gentle movement, music therapy, as well as mindfulness and relaxation. Fortnightly individual therapy is also offered with a psychiatrist and the LEAP Coordinator.

The LEAP Coordinator will ensure the smooth running of the program including supporting/supervising group facilitators, participating in a weekly ward round with the treating team and providing group therapy where needed. The LEAP Coordinator will work in a multidisciplinary team based approach and be supported by other experienced mental health professionals.

The Geelong Clinic programs have been developed by health professionals in collaboration with consumers and are based on a philosophy centered on:

- Trust - establishing a trusting partnership between the consumer and the treating team_
- Dignity - providing a humanistic approach that retains dignity and respect_
- Individualised treatment - recognising that recovery from an eating disorder takes time and the path is different for everyone_

Located on the fringe of Geelong's CBD, The Geelong Clinic is a 73 bed private mental health hospital recognized for its provision of dedicated psychiatric care since 1998. Employees enjoy free parking on site, an employee assistance program and scope for further career enhancement.
