We're looking for someone to come and join our production team in Sydney making awesome laser cut parts for a huge range of Australian jewellery makers, artists and designers.

This isn't your typical boring laser cutter, churning out metal plates for engineers Instead, we work with artists, designers, jewellery makers and hobbyists across Australia to help their creations come to life from our massive range of super colourful materials

We're looking for someone special to join our production team, this is a casual position, generally 4-5 days per week (at least 30 hours) but at this time of year we're starting on Christmas orders already so expect to work 5 days per week before long

You don't need to have experience with laser cutters, we'll provide all the training you need - instead we're looking for people who are smarter than average, quick learners, motivated and keen to help wherever needed in a busy workshop.

Did I say busy? Yep, we work fast

We're online-only and we strive to cut and ship designs within 48 hours (normally less).

So all sorts of work experiences are relevant - we have a continual flow of orders that ebbs and flows throughout the day. Think of it as a busy kitchen or cafe with a constant stream of customers to be served.

What would a typical day look like?

You kick off in the morning by warming up the machines and checking they are clean.

A quick scan of the job list shows that there are a couple of urgent long-running jobs to do today, so you decide those ones should be bumped to the head of the queue, you reshuffle the queue and let sales know that they will get done in time.

While they are going you grab some materials from stock and prep the next batch of jobs for cutting.

Your eagle eye for detail spots a flaw in the customer's file - you open up Adobe Illustrator and fix it yourself.

After lunch you notice the stock of mirror is looking a little low, you alert purchasing and get a teammate to cover you on the machines while you quickly update the stock count.

Later that day you lend a hand to the sales team in packing up the days orders before shutting down the machines and helping clean up the workshop.

What sort of person are we looking for?

We don’t need someone with laser cutting or manufacturing experience.
Instead, you should be the sort of person who:
Has a great eye for detail and always spots those little issues that other people can't seem to see.

Enjoys problem-solving and learning new skills.

Likes things to be organised and enjoys getting things done quickly and efficiently.

Takes real pride in their work and never lets things slip by them.

Is hands-on and not afraid of picking up a saw, sander or screwdriver.

Self-motivated, the type of person who sees when something needs doing or someone needs help and just jumps in and gets it done.

Likes dogs - we often have furry friends visiting the workshop
