Cash Officer

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

You will be based at Brisbane International Airport and responsible for the management of store cash takings, ensuring cash handling and cash held on the premises is compliant with company policy and regulations.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE**
- Collection of daily takings
- Ensure that all Airport POS floats currently in use are maintained, replenishing the change float as required
- Daily cash management - Count cash takings and other tenders for each POS and balance with the totals recorded in the Glob+ POS system
- Daily sales reports - once daily cash totals are counted, run daily deposit and withdrawal management function; Batch no. deposit process, and Sales Performance Management steps; Currency Sales Process management, Sales Daily Report Management
- Work to resolve any POS discrepancies and follow-up with relevant Store Management, Finance and Retail System Specialist where required.
- Ensure unexplained discrepancies are reported to Compliance for investigation.
- Cash Banking - ensure cash takings are banked under the agreed process with the General Manager, within working hours. Cash banking deposit slips (photo or scanned copy) to be sent to Head office Finance.
- Cash Machine Management - responsible for the utilisation of the cash machine and reporting cash totals.
- Petty Cash Management - keep a running monthly record of petty cash totals for Brisbane Airport. Monthly follow up reports are to be completed for Finance within the agreed designated timeline.
- Audit POS on shop floor with a team member when deemed necessary
- Assist with the maintenance and development of procedures and systems.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL BE**
- Accuracy with reporting and cash reconciliation
- Adherence to security and safety procedures required for cash handling
- Identification and follow-up of discrepancies and errors in a timely manner
- Submitting financial reports for approval within designated timelines
- Responsible for facilitation of all store cash takings to be banked
- Conduct regular self-audits as per required regarding cash handling, cash management, cash machine balance
- Ensure a high level of housekeeping at all times
- Be aware of and adhere to Airport security emergency and health and safety procedures
- Fully participate in staff meetings and training sessions

**ABOUT YOU**

**Essential**:

- A minimum of 2 years experience in a cash office
- An excellent level of attention to detail
- High level of analytical ability
- Excellent level of numerical ability
- Intermediate experience with MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and internal systems.
- A high of integrity and honesty
- The ability to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrable ability to manage various competing priorities and the ability to assess and resolve basic to intermediate level problems
- A sense of urgency and the ability to translate this into effective organisational practices and time management
- Well developed interpersonal skills including verbal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also able to work autonomously (as appropriate to role) when required

**Desirable**:

- Experience in a cash office of a medium to large sized, face paced retail environment operating 24/7 365.
- Strong communication skills eg report writing communication
