**About Us**
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a wonderful place to expand your career and grow your skills and knowledge. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we provide a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region.
The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).
An opportunity is now available for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 to join the Primary Care and Community Health Team. This position on offer will cover the Cambridge Park School Cluster and is Permanent Full time.
Your role as the Wellbeing Nurse is supported by the Local Health District and Director, Educational Leadership to work across selected public schools and health and community settings to:
- Work with school principals to establish the program in schools
- Develop networks and effective referral pathways with health and community services and programs
- Implement the WHIN Coordinator Program Model of Care
Wellbeing Nurses are registered nurses with high-level specialist skills associated with child and family health, youth health and/or psychosocial support. They provide a leadership role in supporting health care coordination and navigation for students and their families.
This role will see you work closely with the school’s learning and support and wellbeing teams and work closely with local health and community services to support students and their family members on a wide range of health and wellbeing issues. Issues may include mental health, social and behavioral support, physical health, and peer or family relationships.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Current Registered Nurse/Midwife Division 1 National Registration (AHPRA) with a minimum of 3 years’ post registration clinical experience working with child and family health, youth health and/or psychosocial support, and a post registration qualification (Grad Cert minimum) related to these speciality areas of nursing, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by NBMLHD.
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with children and youth health including marginalised and at-risk groups.
- Demonstrated capacity to engage with families to address various health and mental health concerns for children and youth health.
- Demonstrated ability to work within an interagency context, with an emphasis on relationship building, service delivery, quality of care and team cohesion with an ability to identify and improve opportunities to enhance integration of client's care.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including, verbal and written forms and advanced skills in using electronic communication modes; together with an ability to negotiate and problem solve, and the capacity to influence health professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the provision and development of clinical practice by utilisation of evidence-based research with a demonstrated understanding of current NSW Ministry of Health Policies and National and State Standards in relation to children and youth health.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
