**Position Information**:
Rossmore Public School is a small primary school located in a semi-rural community situated in the South West Sydney Priority Growth Area. The school has a FOEI of 153 and a current enrolment of 73 students, with two (three in 2025) mainstream and three multi-categorical classes catering for students with a disability. The school has a combination of experienced and early career teachers. 36% of students are from an English as an additional language/dialect background and 17% of students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The school fosters a culture that values diversity and inclusion.
The school values its community and is focused on maintaining and building strong partnerships with staff, parents and students. Parent participation is highly regarded and valued in our learning community. Staff and community hold the strong belief that links between home and school are essential for a child's success and we invite parents into a partnership with the school.
The school is well resourced with technology available to support student learning and engagement in every classroom. Physical resources to support teaching and learning programs in literacy and numeracy are extensive and flexible learning spaces support innovation in learning and promote student collaboration. Extra-curricular opportunities in sport, environmental initiatives, creative and performing arts, and STEM enable our students to build curiosity, engage in critical thinking, and be challenged.
The school is an active member of the Cowpasture Community of Schools, which work together to provide additional extracurricular, cultural, leadership and enrichment opportunities for our students and to enhance professional networks for staff.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated success in the development, implementation and evaluation of the School Excellence Plan (SEP), with a proven capacity to lead the school for continuous improvement
- A dynamic leader with a proven ability to foster a high expectations environment where staff work cohesively to provide outstanding pedagogy and curriculum implementation.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, external agencies and community to develop open and transparent partnerships, enact informed decision-making and lead continuous improvement to ensure every student learns, grows and belongs in an equitable and outstanding education system.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
