**About us**

Transport for NSW keeps our State moving by providing safe, integrated and efficient transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do - and we do a lot. We connect people, communities and industry and manage how they use our road, rail and maritime networks and services, and even active modes like walking and cycling. The work we do connects the journeys you take every day.

We are a state government organisation made up of more than 28,000 people and we're in the middle of delivering the largest transport infrastructure program in Australia's history. We work across planning, policy and procurement, harnessing data and technology to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.

That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW - you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

**The Division**

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan Division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure. Freight Branch’s mandate is to enable the safe, productive and sustainable movement of goods in and through NSW. Freight works in partnership across government and with industry to deliver improved freight outcomes for the people of NSW. We do this by delivering on the strategic outcomes of TfNSW and through priority areas of focus to meet our goals.

We seek to embed an engagement framework, advance the use of data and technology, embed freight as a critical part of place-based planning, develop data metrics to inform and influence improved freight outcomes, support national regulatory reform, develop strategies and continue responding to the needs of industry, customers and communities to ensure that goods keep moving.

**The Team**

The Business Management team provides the following services to the Freight branch - executive support, process development and improvement, facilitation of time sensitive information to inform the branch, division, cluster, government and customers, providing end-to-end support and advice.

The team looks after a number of ministerial and government services including the timely management and response to requests for briefing notes, house folder notes, ministerial correspondence, GIPA requests, standing orders and parliamentary questions.

The team also collates information for reporting requirements and prepares advice to inform the Executive Director, other senior staff, customers and Ministers and monitors updates for the reporting framework to meet organisational requirements.

**The opportunity**

We have an opportunity for a Business Coordinator to join the Business Management team within the Freight Branch.

In this role you will assist in the provision of high-level business support services to facilitate the delivery of business operations to agreed standards.

**What you will be involved in**

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for providing time sensitive, accurate advice and will provide support on various projects to assist the branch.

You will ensure that information is created, captured and stored in alignment with corporate administrative policies and procedures, researching and providing draft correspondence, briefing notes, ministerial responses and parliamentary content in consultation with branch Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) ensuring that the advice is consistent, succinct and responds to the requirements, including correct approvals.

**About you**

You will also possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, a demonstrated ability to formulate succinct and accurate advice and excellent time management skills.

You will pride yourself on always being a step ahead, proactively anticipating and addressing potential issues before they arise. You will be confident in managing the role requirements with senior staff.

We are looking for a self-starter who is able to hit the ground running. You will be someone who thrives in a fast paced, complex environment. You will have a sound understanding of the workings of Government.

Career opportunities exist to expand in the government relations or communications space. You will also gain invaluable exposure to the inner workings of Government and a strategic helicopter view of Freight and how it ties into government as a whole.
