**The Role**
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Payroll Officer to join our experienced, client-focused team to provide accurate and timely payroll support and advice to ALS laboratories across the region.

Reporting to the National Payroll Manager and as part of a collaborative team, you will learn end to end payroll with a view to becoming an experienced Payroll Officer, processing pays for several hundred ALS employees.

**The day to day**
Responsibilities include:

- Creating and maintaining employee records and files
- Processing changes to employee data
- Processing payroll data and associated filing
- Liaising with employees and managers to ensure pay information is complete and accurate
- Training in processing time records and calculating fortnightly pays on a rotating basis
- Training in Workcover claims and reimbursements
- Training in maintenance of employee superannuation fund details
- Training in uploading EFT details for payroll, group tax and all other creditor payment
- Supporting the payroll team with administrative activities

- Superior attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and aptitude to learn, understand and interpret awards and enterprise agreements
- Computer literacy and skills in MS Office (training will be provided in specific payroll software)
- Strong team orientation with a hands-on, can-do attitude
- Fast and agile learner, able to manage competing priorities
- Helpful, customer service attitude
