**The Role**
As an EL1 Assistant Director in Capability Costing Support and Assurance:
- You will lead a team and be accountable for building team capability through coaching and feedback.
- You will be accountable for the appropriate allocation of resources to achieve outcomes.
- You will support the Department in undertaking analysis and shaping advice for a broad range of stakeholders on cost estimates, financial risks and implications of capability proposals.
- You will build in-depth knowledge of capability costing under the One Defence Capability System and work with stakeholders to improve capability cost estimate comprehensiveness, robustness and transparency.
- You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of policies and procedures relevant to your team and your work.
**About our Team**
The Capability Costing Branch works in partnership with the Defence community to drive better practice and transform capability costing. The Branch connects and supports a professional costing community by developing policy and technical solutions, providing strategic and technical costing advice, and building a sustainable costing workforce.
To be successful in this role you must enjoy learning and building new skills and knowledge. You will be exposed to a range of challenges that will require you to learn about our organisation and how its objectives are being met. You will seek to understand the connectedness of elements within and across projects and programs of work. You must be able to think creatively about complex problems to find innovative solutions to support our stakeholders.
