Residential Care Officer

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Officer to join our team. As a Residential Care Officer, you will be responsible for providing support and education to individuals with disabilities to help them achieve their goals. You will be responsible for developing plans as well as assessing and managing the health and therapy related needs of people with disability requiring residential support. The role requires a high level of communication and reporting and the ability to work within teams of support workers.
**How can you make a difference?**
You will partner with our consumers to make decisions about their lives that help them achieve their goals, no matter how big or small. You will:
- Assist consumers to live at home by providing support such as personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming, cleaning and meal preparation.
- Support consumers with daily living activities and accessing their community, such as shopping, appointments and other activities and events.
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Assist with medications and other health related needs
- Support consumers with therapy goals including positive behaviour support
- Provide assistance and back up to support workers when required
- Support consumers to build and maintain relationships with families and friends
**Essential Attributes**:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Essential qualifications**
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- NDIS Orientation
- Current certification in Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide CPR (HLTAID009)
- Working with children check (WA)
- Valid driver's license
Qualifications relating to:
- Autism awareness
- Autonomic Dysreflexia
- Bowel Care
- De-escalating conflict and aggression
- Epilepsy with Midazolam
- First aid for Mental Health
- Infection control
- Manual handling
- Medication management
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Safety interventions
- Wound and pressure care
**Desirable Attributes**:
- Diploma of Community Services or equivalent skills/experience
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Minimum 4 years demonstrated experience supporting people with complex behaviour
- Vision and values that align with One2One
