**Role Description/Criteria**

We are seeking to employ a highly caring, giving, dedicated and skilled Learning Support Officer to join our school community.

The position is initially for 4 days a week with working hours of 9.10am to 3.10pm. for the remainder 2024 school year. (Monday to Thursday)

**In Term 4 2024, you will be exclusively working with an ASD Level 2 Prep student.**

**Previous experience in working with such students and skills with ASD students will be highly regarded.**

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate their ability to work as a collaborative team member with our Student Wellbeing Leader, classroom teachers, specialist teachers and other LSOs in our school community. Taking the lead from and direction from your associate Prep teacher will make this a highly successful arrangement.

Applicants for this position should demonstrate:

- a commitment to Catholic Education and the wellbeing and safety of students
- a commitment to the Child Safe policy of the school
- the ability to work closely with others
- the ability to work 1:1 with a child for an extended period of time
- high energy and a love of special needs students

The successful applicant will:

- take direction from and report to the Student Wellbeing Leader and the classroom teacher to implement elements of the student's Personal Learning Plans
- provide physical, social and emotional care to this particular student
- liaise regularly with teaching staff with regard to this particular student's learrning needs
- be flexible in dealing with the changing and diverse needs of this particular student
- have a current Working with Children Check
- have a Certificate IV in Education Support
