Are you a talented APS 6 Content Designer with significant experience designing user-centred content? Looking for an opportunity to join a team of communications and content experts passionate about getting the best results for users of the content they produce?_

Fantastic opportunity for a talented Content Designer with significant experience designing user-centred content to join the collaborative Internal Communications Team of a highly regarded Federal Government Department. You will coordinate, design, write and publish organisation-wide messages on the department's intranet platforms.

Initial 6 month non-ongoing position, with the possibility of extension. This role can be based in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week. Please note that remote working is not an option. Salary negotiable within the APS 6 Band.

**Key Duties**:

- Work collaboratively with SMEs to develop content in line with user needs
- Manage the end-to-end workflow to update old content and create new content
- Refresh and develop and publish new content that meets digital best practice, accessibility and readability and content management standards
- Advocate for user needs to internal stakeholders, drawing on data-driven insights about content performance
- Use digital workplace tools including Azure DevOps, readability tool, SharePoint Online and Service Now
- Communicate constructive and innovative suggestions on how we use content to meet business goals
- Other duties as required to assist in the effective functioning of the digital content in the team
- You will be passionate about creating user-centred content to help staff easily find and use the information they need to do their jobs. You'll be self-motivated and happy working in an agile setting._

**What we are looking for**
- Australian citizenship
- Proven experience designing user-centred content that is expressed in plain language, is accessible and inclusive, and meets WCAG and Australian Government Style guidelines
- Ability to translate complex terminology into clear and engaging user-focused content
- Experience planning content projects, identifying user needs, creating prototypes, drafting, editing and pair writing, and coordinating clearances
- Ability to map content across intranet, identify gaps and offer solutions. Understanding of UX design.
- Ability to collaborative effectively with stakeholders and content owners
