ABOUT MINDSET SUPPORT
Mindset Support is a private practice that is passionate about providing inclusive, whole of life, evidence-based and person-centred support. We are seeking an experienced allied health professional/positive behaviour support practitioner who is autonomous and would like to work in a contracting arrangement under a registered NDIS provider.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of Mindset Support, you will embed our values of Integrity, Connection, and Trust within your role. Your caseload will be diverse in presentations and needs and you will be required to do a range of interventions including assessment, capacity building interventions, and complex problem-solving.
A good working knowledge of mental health and disability is required due to the needs of the people you are working with. It would be advantageous if you have been assessed at a proficient level of behaviour practitioner with the NDIS commission. Experience is required working within the NDIS system and supporting participants to work toward achieving NDIS goals as outlined in their NDIS Plans. A DAY IN THE ROLE OF A PRACTITIONER CAN INCLUDE
- Undertaking high-quality intake and comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, monitor, and review a plan and outcomes.
- Building the capacity of people to navigate systems
- Providing evidenced based positive behaviour interventions
- Maintaining accurate and timely case notes, to third-party audit standard.
- Developing professional and concise reports and plans in accordance with operational and legislative requirements
- Attending regular stakeholder meetings, building, and maintaining collaborative working relationships
- Developing resources for individuals and groups determined by participant needs

SELECTION CRITERIA
- Bachelor or Masters in allied health with membership to a professional body e.g the AASW; Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Excellent understanding of issues faced by participants of the NDIS scheme
- Demonstrated ability to write professional reports and synthesise information
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A current open driver’s license and road-worthy vehicle, insurance covering comprehensive cover.
- Vaccination certificate
- NDIS Orientation Module completion
- Understand relevant policy and legislation relating to Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices
- Is competent with using Microsoft programs and video platforms (MS Teams)
- Committed to professional development and maintenance of current evidence-based best practice
- Understanding of the needs of diverse communities
Key responsibilities to provide Positive Behaviour Support Services include (but are not limited to):
- Undertaking comprehensive functional behaviour assessments
- Assisting people in the understanding and adjustments of attitudes, expectations and behaviour
- Developing individualised, client-centred behaviour support plan recommendations, and working with others to implement such recommendations
- Developing and writing Positive Behavioural Support Plans
- Training and supporting colleagues, providers and families to implement Behaviour Support Plans and related strategies
- Promoting provider, family and other caregiver involvement through individual and group caregiver and provider training
- Providing ongoing coaching for providers and families to implement evidence-based behaviour change strategies
- Working in a variety of environments, predominantly community environments, as required
- Ensuring Mindset Support’s services maintain best practices and develop the tools to provide positive outcomes for participants
