As part of the new Operating Model, we are looking for a **Product & Underwriting Specialist - Property and SME Package** to join our **Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane** office.

This role is responsible for supporting and assisting the Product & Underwriting Manager - Property & SME Package with managing the profitability, underwriting and oversight of Ansvar’s Property & SME Package portfolios across all associated product classes and customer segments - including SME, Mid-Market and Corporate (Strategic Accounts).

**Key responsibilities**
***:

- Underwriting - appetite, guidelines and standards
- Underwriting authority licence and accreditation
- Product quality & standards
- Rating / Pricing tools
- Underwriting governance & assurance
- Technical expert across all product classes & segments (including SME Package)
- Build organisation-wide underwriting capability

**Knowledge, skills and experience**
***:

- Extensive experience (min. 7+ years) in a technical underwriting role in Property and SME Package
- Deep knowledge of Property and SME Package products and exposures (both short-tail and long-tail)
- Experience in Policy drafting for short-tail and long-tail lines of business
- Proven track record in delivering profitable growth in short-tail and long-tail lines of business
- Confident and influential communicator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
- Commercial acumen - decisiveness on critical business issues and decision making
- Responds positively to change; actively seeks feedback on performance
- Ability to create a positive working environment
- Passionate about the business and making a difference
