**About Hixson Gardens Aged Care Facility, Bankstown NSW**:
Hixson Gardens Aged Care Facility is located at 1A Hixson Street, Bankstown. The home provides either permanent or respite care as per the resident’s requirements. Caring staff provide the best in professional holistic support, delivering comprehensive clinical care & services focused on helping the aged with specialised nursing, palliative and dementia care.

**About the role**:
We are hiring casual General Services Officer - Kitchen (AM/PM)

Duties may include:

- Assist in the preparation of meals under the supervision of the Chef/Cook
- Set trays and/or tables attractively with residents’ correct crockery and cutlery
- Plate and deliver meals to residents in accordance with each residents’ identified abilities and preferences
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of food storage, preparation and service areas in accordance with Hixson Gardens Aged Care Facility policy and protocol
- Dispose of waste in accordance with Hixson Gardens policy and protocol
- Use and maintain catering equipment in accordance with Hixson Gardens policy and protocol
- Liaise with Chef/Cook and or the Accommodation & Procurement Manager regarding stock requirements
- Undertake cleaning activities of the kitchen and dining areas and associated equipment in accordance with the cleaning schedule
- Promote Hixson Gardens in a positive light to residents, families, visitors and the community
- Participating in Hixson Gardens Quality program
- Other duties as directed by the General Services Officer Team Leader or delegate

**Essential**:

- Ability to use commercial/industrial kitchen equipment
- Demonstrated practical experience in an aged care environment
- Documentation skills and knowledge of Government Accreditation regimes
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to work as a team member with mínimal supervision

**Recommended**:

- Desirable - Relevant Certificate / Education
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Practical knowledge of accreditation and quality management
- Adherence to good Work Health Safety practices, company policies, infection prevention control, quality and accreditation issues

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $28.62 per hour
