About the role
We’re seeking a Head of Facilities to play a vital role in setting the strategic direction of the function whilst facilitating the delivery of the overall workplace strategy to meet Transurban’s current and future needs. This role is primarily responsible for the Australian operations, however, provides functional guidance to the North American operation, influencing to a global standard, wherever possible.

Day-to-day, you will:
- You’ll assist with the strategy development for the Facilities Management Services function-
- You’ll lead, develop and coach a highly capable team to roll out BAU and longer-term processes and strategies-
- You’ll identify areas to streamline and automate business processes, and partner with our technology team to leverage our technologies to ensure seamless experiences for our users-
- As a natural influencer, you’ll represent the facilities function across the business, establishing the best practice standards for Facilities and bring everyone along on the journey-
- You’ll ensure safety is always top priority for the business and its employees. You will do this through the provision of safe, clean and operational facilities that are compliant with local laws and regulationsThis role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
- You’ll bring your proven experience in a similar Senior Facilities Management role, ideally across multiple sites (and multi regions) within a corporate environment-
- You’ll bring with you experience in overseeing a complex folio across a mix of owned and leased buildings, facilities management, consolidation projects and contract management (incl managing large teams of contractors)-
- You’ll have sound knowledge of various codes and HSE regulations-
- You’ll enjoy problem solving and thrive on the various challenges that come with a fast-paced and evolving organisation. Your experience with delivering long term strategic objectives and resilience to see them through, will be an advantage-
- You’ll have the ability to prioritise, delegate and remain calm in a crisis. You’re also keen to get your hands dirty to resolve a situation-
- You can mentor, you can lead and most importantly, you can lead by example. You don’t say what you would do, you demonstrate how it is done and influence those around you-
