**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Manager, Continuous Improvement you will be an integral member of an empowered, high-performing team. The Principal Improvement will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement across all aspects of Olympic Dam Mine - including safety, cost, culture and productivity to support surface and underground production activities.

This role will see you develop influential relationships with multiple functions and stakeholders. You will be required to work collaboratively within the Continuous Improvement Team, and across stakeholder groups, where you will enable the identification of safe and effective continuous improvement opportunities by respectfully challenging the status quo and others' thinking, beyond the known/familiar.

This position is based in Adelaide or Roxby Downs, routine site time at Olympic Dam is required.

In this role you will:

- Drive development and delivery of the improvement pipeline through healthy tension and robust routines.
- Collect and analyse qualitative data through research design and the facilitation of ideation/idea generation, and synthesise data to generate and enhance insight.
- Communicate narratives about the problem or idea at hand, using visual representations to engage and motivate the audience.
- Source information and plans to conduct analysis in support of evidence based decision making.
- Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
- Plan and track the delivery of and manage projects to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.
- Identify, implement and evaluate the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of BHP systems and processes.
- Work within a high performing team and a culture of care.
- Participate in field leadership activities to drive improvements within our safety culture.

**About You**:
Ideally you have relevant tertiary qualifications, for example engineering, finance, data science, supported by significant mining, or related industry, experience which has enabled you to develop a deep understanding of the key value drivers which inform mine continuous improvement initiatives. You have a strong appreciation for the voice of your customer and pursuing operating perfection.

Skills in delivering projects
- Previous experience in a process improvement role is preferred
- Understanding or exposure to Theory of Constraints, Lean 6 sigma, and Process Control charts would be advantageous
- Effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration and problem-solving abilities
- Organisational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated technical and commercial acumen with problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to produce concise reports and presentations to senior managers
- Proven ability to influence and mentor others in HSEC principles and behaviours.
