Federal Government department seeking experience Regulatory Assurance Officer

**Your new company**
Responsible for a wide range of regulatory and non-regulatory programs which protect the environment from harmful effects that may be generated throughout the product life cycle. From working with industry at the product design stage to identify ways to phase out chemicals of concern or design for recyclability, to end-of-life recycling; our focus is on finding ways to better manage Australia's waste, prevent air quality and ozone layer depletion, and govern the use of industrial chemicals.

**Your new role**
- Under limited direction support at least 4 different environmental regulatory program teams to identify, explore and develop important program management documentation including but not limited to compliance plans, detection and monitoring activities, corporate performance reporting, and Standard Operating Procedures. These regulatory programs are administered under a number of different pieces of legislation and relate to hazardous waste, waste tyres, plastic, paper and glass, protecting the ozone layer, and improving air quality.
- Work collaboratively in the day-to-day work of the team including internal and external stakeholder engagement and policy and data research relating to environmental regulation and best practice program management.
- Drive the establishment of a Regulator Community of Practice across the Division, including a forward work program, agenda, discussion points and topics to engage and excite potential members.
- Prepare reports and briefings for Senior Executive Staff, on a regular basis.

**What you'll need to succeed**
to be successful in this role, you will have had experience in;
- regulation, compliance and/or audit programs or policy
- has a legal or law enforcement background (but not essential)
- initiative, willingness to learn, likes to undertake engagement with stakeholders, and is capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
