**What will your day-to-day look like?**
Joining the YDACS team in our newly created role of Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner, you will become an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, helping to shape the position. Your role may involve working across different health sites and within the community, ensuring continuity of care and encouraging young people to explore opportunities for care, support, and treatment in partnership with Aboriginal services.

**Where you will be working**:
The Youth Drug and Alcohol Services (YDACS) team brings together professionals from a range of health disciplines to work together in support of young people aged 12 to 24 years old. The successful applicant joining the team will be adding a new role to the existing mix of dedicated staff. It is a great opportunity to work and learn in a drug and alcohol clinical service committed to better outcomes for young people, those who support them and the wider community.

The role is part of the YDACS multidisciplinary team and in practice that means ongoing, day-to-day support from the whole team. In addition, a thorough orientation, individual supervision, cultural supervision, access to education and training opportunities and service manager support will together ensure the successful applicant every opportunity to feel connected and confident in learning, developing, and delivering service to young people in this role.

**Essential**:

- This is an identified Aboriginal position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent. Exemption is claimed under section 14d of the anti-discrimination act 1977.
- Aboriginal Health Worker: Holds or aspires to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of care in which the Aboriginal Health Worker works.
- Aboriginal Health Practitioner: Hold a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and a current authority to practice as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability to travel as required.
- Current Working with Children Check.
