**Who we’re looking for**:
Partner with business areas, understand their strategies and capability needs and manage the Data platforms that support them. This role holds accountability for the services and lifecycle support specific to the Data Platform portfolio, including assessment of new or improved capabilities in line with Business strategies and the Technology Roadmap.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Own all Data Platforms, including future developments, in line with the Technology Roadmap and Data Strategy.
- Work with senior managers and product owners to build a prioritised roadmap of projects and improvements to internal systems aligned to Business strategies.
- Work collaboratively with IT peers to overcome resource and other IT contention issues affecting delivery.
- Provide expert product and service support and partner with internal technology teams to fulfil service obligations.
- Coordinate the delivery of consistent and effective technology services in relation to data management, in line with agreed data quality and governance practices.
- Draw on partner resources for the delivery of technology solutions.
- Plan and manage budgets appropriate to portfolio.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial statement of works with vendor partners.
- Manage partners and vendors delivery responsibilities to ensure scope, quality, budget and timelines are adhered to.

**You’ll be great in this role if you have**:

- Experience implementing and utilising data platform technologies.
- Experience with AWS, Databricks, Data Streaming, Customer Personalisation Technologies.
- Strong leadership, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience in portfolio management and managing projects.
- Proven skills with Advanced analytics, Machine Learning and AI across broad sets of data.
- Experience with designing, implementing and sourcing different data structures (eg. XML/JSON/Parquet), in a wide range of data sources (IaaS services, on-prem relational databases, real-time queues), using multiple languages (eg. Python/SQL/Scala).
- Knowledge of Data management, data governance, and data storage principles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, especially the credibility to have a positive influence on a range of stakeholders and lead high performing teams.
- Results driven, with a strong customer orientation.
- Skills in contract and vendor negotiation and management.
- Understanding of change management principles.
- Airline experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of relevant cloud services and best-practice architectures.
- Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
- Qualifications/certifications in ITIL and project management.
