We are currently looking for a Payroll Officer to join the payroll team at our Camberwell support office. Reporting to the payroll manager, the successful incumbent will be play key role in the payroll department not only by processing payrolls but providing ongoing support to the wider Business Units. The role is also responsible for contributing and providing best practice and driving process improvements to achieve desired outcomes.
**The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to**:
- Ensure Weekly, Fortnightly and Monthly pay runs for the API Group are calculated and processed in accordance with Awards and Enterprise Agreements accurately and by the deadlines provided
- Investigating and resolving payroll issues and queries in an efficient manner
- Assisting in the maintenance of the team mailbox, responding to business & employee queries in the timely manner across all pay points. Responding to commercial finance department information/data requests as required
- Assist payroll team in completing month end procedures to reconcile all aspects of the payroll function and integration to the General Ledger (SAP FI)
- Reconciling of Staff Leave Balances as required
- Reconciliation of Payment Summaries to EFT transaction
- Managing superannuation accounts
- Researching and monitoring new developments in payroll operations and implementing payroll changes (tax, super, awards etc) according to API’s agreed processes
- Responding to requests for information, data or assistance by Auditors and other organisations in an accurate and timely manner
- 3+ years experience as a Payroll Officer processing large volume payroll
- Thorough understanding of payroll legislation
- Resilience and sense of character
- Strong focus on teamwork
- Proven ability to develop effective partnerships to proactively find solutions and efficiencies in processes
- Ability to work under pressure and develop workplans to achieve deadlines
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Experience using large Payroll systems preferred. API uses Affinity, Timetek and Success Factors
- Qualifications in Finance or business-related discipline would be advantages
