**About the Role**
The Planning & Reporting analyst at the Melbourne Medical School provides high-quality data analysis and management reporting for finance, research, strategic performance, human resources, and special projects. The role supports the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitors strategic project reports, and consolidates diverse information sources, requiring strong relationship-building and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Undertake data analysis; cleaning, synthesising and visualising data from a variety of data sources, and prepare reports for use by School Executive team members
- Provide support to the Finance Manager, School and Department Managers to ensure strategic priorities for the School leadership group are met. This includes but is not limited to annual and quarter budgeting and forecasting, workforce planning, monthly Department management report, and other ad hoc queries and reports as required.
- Provide support to the School Manager and Executive Officer, Business Development in developing budgets and financial projections to support business case proposals.
- Monitor and provide financial reports and analysis of School strategic funds

**Who We Are Looking For**

You will have exceptional attention to detail and excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a growth mindset, the ability to provide and receive meaningful feedback, and the capability to plan and work to tight deadlines both independently and as part of a team.

You will also have:

- A relevant tertiary degree (covering data analytics, finance and/or accounting) with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- Experience with budget preparation and reporting, and analysis of actual expenditure
- High level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills in order to present information clearly and concisely in writing, presentation tools and verbally.
