Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas of criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 27 offices.
**About the role**
**In this role, you will lead and empower a Mediation Team at Legal Aid NSW**
Are you a passionate and experienced Team Leader in family dispute resolution? Legal Aid NSW is seeking a dynamic individual to supervise, lead, guide, develop, train, and monitor a team of Mediation Organisers. In this rewarding role, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, client-focused mediation services, adhering to Legal Aid NSW policy and budget requirements.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- **Team Leadership & Development**:Supervise, mentor, and empower a team of Mediation Organisers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional service.
- **Team’s operational day to day HR Management**:Manage operational HR matters (leave, performance, recruitment etc).
- **Mediation Service Delivery**:Assess, administer, and organize mediation services across various areas, including Family Law, Care and Protection, Property matters, and other areas as defined by policy, guidelines, and delegations.
- **Strategic Contribution**:Contribute to the ongoing development of systems and practices for Legal Aid FDR. Leverage your operational experience and stakeholder connections to manage the development and allocation of team services.
**About you**
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate sound skills and relevant experience in managing a team in a busy and demanding work environment, with team members working in different locations. Experience working in family law or dispute resolution would be an advantage.
You will be able to work collaboratively with management to achieve the stated goals and objectives of the FDR unit, while also providing appropriate and extensive support and guidance to all the members of your team.

**The essential requirements for this role**
You must:
- Be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and a Working with Children Check
- Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
The Family Law Division have a number of roles where it is a statutory obligation for staff to hold a valid Working With Children Check. You will be required to provide your Working With Children Check details prior to commencement in any role requiring the check.
