**About The Position**

Reporting to the General Manager refinery this role will lead the engineering department to develop and deliver agreed site projects and implement safety improvements, on time, maintain regulatory and statutory requirements and maintain costs within budget.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring occupational health and safety regulations, environmental regulations and correct engineering standards are met through the delivery and execution of projects.
- Ensure Environmental compliance as well as the Health and Safety of the project engineering team including all stakeholders involved in the execution of projects.
- Develops, mentors, and provides leadership to the project engineering team.
- Manages external contractors and ensure compliance to internal and external standards.
- Develop and maintain the five-year CAPEX plan.
- Ensure sufficient planning, conceptual and detailed engineering design work for all projects.
- Enhances and maintains the Perth Mint Management of Change process and ensure all changes and projects comply to this standard.
- Identifies areas for continuous improvement, designs and develops appropriate solutions to maximise the efficiency of the organisation.
- Maintain a good working relationship with suppliers and stakeholders
- Develops on site engineering strategies and plans and implements projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Generates and maintains engineering documentation, reports and drawings as required.
- Provides operational support and technical assistance to the refinery operational teams where needed.
- Oversees refinery engineering and building and facilities services.
- Takes responsibility and precaution to maintain the confidentiality of The Perth Mint information in all forms.

**About You**:

- Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to build effective working relationships both internal and external to the organisation.
- An understanding of technical engineering information and principles is required along with the ability to accurately perform engineering calculations and prepare technical drawings.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capability.
- Sound written communication and report writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and control projects within available resources.
- Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures.
- Good experience in engineering discipline.
- Good leadership, teamwork and time management skills.
- Good experience in project management.
- Good background in managing a multidisciplinary team.
- Broad range of experience and strong proficiency with computing packages and the Microsoft suite of products.
- Sound knowledge of OH&S and Environmental regulations.
