**About the role**

Mater’s **Group Finance Business Advisory** team is currently seeking an exceptional **Assistant Finance Business Partner**in a** full-time and permanent capacity**based at** South Brisbane.**

The purpose of the role is to support the Senior Finance Business Partner in delivering management accounting functions. This opportunity is aimed at someone currently studying or a newly qualified person seeking to leverage existing business partnering skills and experience moving into a partnering and advisory focused team.

**Salary range: $90,832 - $100,070 per annum** plus 11.5% superannuation and**access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900** +**access to many staff benefits

**What you’ll be doing**

As the Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will support and assist Finance Business Partners to:

- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and anomalies and provide insights to support decision-making by senior management
- Supports ledger integrity and month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journals, accruals and ledger reviews
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information, resolve discrepancies and ensure ledger integrity
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering relevant financial information, preparing budget schedules, and updating forecast models
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable transactions
- Identify, document, and monitor opportunities and risks and actively participate in Performance and Accountability Framework activities

**About you**
- Relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in accountancy, economics, commerce, finance, or related discipline
- Associated relevant professional registration (e.g., CPA or CA qualified), highly desirable
- Relevant management accounting experience, within a large healthcare organisation or complex service organisation is desirable
- Knowledge of key accounting principles and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
