**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**
We are committed to empowering futures, ensuring rights and enriching lives. We support people to have safe, secure and well-paid work with the skills for a sustainable future as we ourselves strive to be a model employer.
We provide the framework for fair and productive relationships between employers and employees. We also oversee skills development and training initiatives to support those entering the workforce or re-training to take advantage of emerging employment opportunities.
With us, your work directly contributes to shaping the employment landscape. Whether you are engaging in policy development, program implementation, or direct support services, your efforts will have a tangible impact on job seekers, employees and the economy by giving them a framework to build a future anchored and realised through employment.
It is our ambition to do things differently, to create the ‘department of great jobs’- where our people reflect our purpose.
**The Role**
The DEWR Tasmania State Office plays a pivotal role in enabling the delivery of the Australian Government’s employment and skills programs across the state. We partner with a network of external service providers and engage with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure programs are responsive, effective, and tailored to local needs.
We are currently seeking APS5 Delivery and Engagement Officers to join our dynamic teams within the Employment and Skills teams. These roles are integral to the successful implementation of government policy and the delivery of high-quality services to the Tasmanian community.
The Employment and Skills teams support the delivery of employment and skills programs in Tasmania. We work closely with our department’s policy areas and providers to implement the Australian Government’s employment and skills initiatives. We undertake regular engagement activities working with our providers, Employment and Skills teams in all other states, and other Commonwealth, State, and local government agencies. The programs we contract manage are Workforce Australia, Workforce Australia - Transition to Work, Parent Pathways, Employability Skills Training (EST), Career Transition Assistance (CTA), Local Jobs Program and Job Coordinators, Self-Employment Assistance, Australian Apprenticeship Support Services and the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program.

- Provide administrative assistance to the teams, including mailbox management, running daily reports, reviewing media, preparing correspondence, undertaking research and assessing the eligibility of payment claims.
- Supporting providers by processing change requests, troubleshooting via systems interrogation and providing clear and accurate advice based on guidelines, task cards or program area guidance.
- Assisting with performance assessments and compliance of providers in accordance with contracts and performance frameworks, including through the assessment of reports and data, site and signup visits, preparation of feedback and briefs.
- Undertake risk assessments, contract management planning and negotiation of milestones, and prepare reports for a range of audiences based on research and analysis of performance data.
- Assist with both routine and random audits against relevant criteria, operational guidelines, legislation, and work instructions, and exercising judgement to assess risk and compliance.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of program and policy objectives.
Some travel both intra and interstate, including overnight stays, will be required.

You should take into consideration the position overview (including any detailed position specific requirements) when drafting your response. Where possible include specific relevant examples of your work.
The APS work level standards accommodate the diversity of roles across the APS and are structured to clearly differentiate between the work expected (i.e. responsibilities and duties) at each classification level.
