**About the Business**
Our Screening and Transformation team is leading a major program of work to reform the processes and systems of the DHS Screening Unit by working collaboratively with other departmental teams, as well as key stakeholders across the public and private sector.
**Role Details**
The Department of Human Services is recruiting for a Screening Transformation program, a two-year initiative aimed at modernising screening services for the future.
The Screening Transformation program will deliver an improved screening system to contribute to safeguarding vulnerable people (including children), while providing a fair and robust process for people seeking to join the workforce or volunteer.
You will gain exposure to a multi-faceted program of work, using state of the art process and data automation to review and improve operational efficiencies and enable more timely screening outcomes.
Improving the efficiency of the screening system will enable organisations to focus on service delivery, and enable workers and volunteers to start serving the community sooner.

**About the Role**
The Functional Analyst is a role within the Screening Transformation Program and is accountable to the Program Director, Screening Transformation for:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs, assembling requirements, and documenting functional specifications for software development or process improvement areas within the program.
- Analysing business processes, workflows, and systems to identify improvement and/or automation opportunities and contribute to solutions that meet business requirements.
- Monitoring the performance of implemented solutions and identifying opportunities for further optimization or enhancement.
Key outcomes and accountabilities:
1. Gather and document stakeholders needs, analyse business processes and refine these into detailed requirements, user stories and functional specifications as required.
2. Contribute to solution designs, data models, business rules and process flows, document design decisions and functional specifications for developers and other stakeholders.
3. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to define test cases, validate requirements, and support testing activities. Ensure tested solutions meet quality standards and user acceptance criteria ,and address issues and defects identified during testing to ensure the quality of delivered solutions.
4. Liaise between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and solutions.
5. Provide support and training to end-users during the implementation phase, address user questions and issues and facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure smooth adoption of new systems or processes. 6. Develop, implement, and maintain user procedures and support tools while adhering to enterprise-wide policies and guidelines.
Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department. The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.

Some out of hours work may be required.
Desirable:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or related field.
Certifications such as Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Agile certifications.

**Salary Range**: $98,478-$104,165 (ASO6)
