Auslan Teacher F-6

**Role Description/Criteria**

St. Ambrose Parish School is a welcoming school that works in partnership with families to provide an excellent education in a faith-filled community. We want to complement our Languages program with a teacher that can lead and inspire our students to become proficient in Auslan while building our student's confidence and self-esteem. We have 10 classes, F- 6, that would each participate in a lesson once a week.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the part-time position of Auslan teacher to commence on 27th January 2025.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.

As a member of staff, the Auslan teacher is responsible for developing respectful, collaborative relationships with students, staff, and parents, to contribute to positive school culture.

The Auslan teacher will enact the Child Safe Policy, ensuring all students are safe and abide by the MACS Code of Conduct for staff. (attached)

- Provide a diverse and engaging Auslan program.
- Be able to work as a team with staff
- Proactively monitor, support, and address issues of student wellbeing.
- Report and provide feedback to students about their learning.
- Contribute actively to a positive team culture.
- Provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience.
- To deliver engaging lessons using modern pedagogy and best practice.
- Ensure the Auslan is showcased to the broader school community.
- Be committed to life long learning and upholding the schools vision.
- Promote and support our school improvement plan.
