With a strong pipeline of work in Eastern Australian & New Zealand, we currently have an exciting opportunity in Brisbane for a Principal Contaminated Land Consultant to join our team. Our current and emerging projects span a variety of sectors including transport infrastructure, power and energy, water, renewables, waste to energy, Defence and industrial. With in-house teams covering all environmental, planning, and spatial disciplines as well as other technical/engineering teams, our people have plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth. **Here’s What You’ll Need**: As a Principal Environmental Scientist in the Contaminated Land Assessment and Remediation Section, you will take an active role in leading the delivery of projects. This will include technical guidance for mid-level and junior staff in order to support the successful execution of projects. You will seek to provide mentoring to more junior staff in relation to the broad skills required of a consultant, both technical and softer skills. You will take an active role in business development, responsible for building client relationships that secure repeat work and new work that supports your own personal pipeline as well as that of others in the team. This position requires the following experience and qualifications: - Masters or Honours preferred. - Bachelor of Science tertiary qualification and/or relevant technical qualification (i.e. Earth Sciences, Environmental Science). - Be certified or actively working towards: - Certified Environmental Practitioner (Contaminated Land) by the Certified Environmental Practitioners Scheme of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand; or - Certified Professional Soil Scientist - Contaminated Site Assessment and Management by Soil Science Australia (also known as Australian Society of Soil Science) - Previous experience with contaminated site investigations and data assessment in accordance with the National Environmental Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure and State and international best practice - Be able to successfully prepare and deliver PSIs, DSIs and other reports (e.g. site management plans, site validation reports) in accordance with the NEPM and State and International Guidelines, with support from senior colleagues - Exposure to projects of a multidisciplinary nature such as those covering infrastructure, environmental assessment, industry and development projects - Previous experience providing leadership, technical guidance and mentoring to contaminated land professionals to support their development - Proven history of identifying, winning and maintaining clients - Experience and knowledge of Defence guidelines etc, TMR, government permitting, hazardous materials, PFAS would be highly regarded - Sound understanding of the Resource Management Act Jacobs.
