**The Role**
- The Finance Officer role will see you perform a diverse range of reporting, compliance, and basic accounting activities to support parishes in the greater Ballarat area. You will work with four priests across seven local parishes to ensure efficient and accurate management of accounts, fortnightly payroll, banking, BAS, and support the preparation of annual budgets. Your strong attention to detail, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and demonstrated ability to work autonomously will set you up for success in this role. _

**Duties**
- Parish and Presbytery Finances monthly/quarterly/annual reporting to Parish Priests and Finance Councils
- Manage fortnightly payroll including PAYG and Superannuation requirements
- Complete regulatory compliance requirements such as BAS
- Reconciliation of General Ledger, banking, and petty cash
- Support the preparation and management of budgets
- Ad-hoc administrative duties as required
**Skills & Experience**
- Experience in a similar Bookkeeping or Finance Officer role
- Strong planning and organizing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly detail orientated
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or similar is advantageous, however not essential
- Prior experience working within (or understanding of) the Catholic sector would be advantageous however is not essential
