Parks Assistant

In this role, you will be working and assisting in maintaining the presentation of our parks and gardens keeping them safe and clean for all.

Ultimately, Parks Assistants are responsible for undertaking duties to support Council’s operations and maintenance of parks, gardens, cemeteries, facilities, street and townscapes; AND to efficiently, safely and effectively use plant and equipment associated with the duties of the position.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Mowing operations in parks & gardens. Accurately operating whipper snipper and mower.
- Application of chemical spraying agents for weeds also by hand.
- Natural area conservation
- Recreational trail construction & maintenance.
- Litter picking.
- Whipper snipper operating.
- Conduct self in a professional manner and maintain good working relationships.
- Correctly use and maintain plant and equipment provided, including all personal protective equipment.

**Essential Skills & Experience**:

- Must have a driver’s licence, class C or higher.
- Must be triple vaccinated against Covid-19.
- Parks and Gardens experience ideal.
